The Setoka citrus liqueur from the Shouro Distillery has a limited production of 500 bottles. This new product is made from the dried peel of Setoka oranges grown on the local Ishigami farm and processed in-house. The peels and other botanicals are macerated in black barley shochu that has been stored and matured for over 10 years. The dried Setoka orange peels give this liqueur its golden color. An intense citrus aroma on the nose and a slightly spicy, mildly sweet, and citrusy freshness on the palate. With notes of caramel and acacia honey, it offers a balanced sweetness and delicate bitterness.
