About product

TOSHINOWA 38°, Vintage 2004 is a truly special product that we, as the importer, were able to sample directly from the barrel at the distillery and were immediately captivated by its flavor, driving us to bring it to market. This product stands out for its unique and refined qualities, making it a must-try for whiskey enthusiasts. While it can be enjoyed on the rocks, we highly recommend warming the glass and drinking it straight to fully appreciate its rich and aromatic profile. The Shouro Shochu Distillery is located in Kushima, the southernmost part of Miyazaki Prefecture. The "Miyazaki yeast," commonly used by Miyazaki distilleries, is said to have been isolated from the mash at the Shouro Distillery in the 1950s. This rice-based shochu, distilled in 2004 and aged for 29 months in old Calvados barrels, offers aromas of dried fruits, apple compote, vanilla, honey, and cocoa, displaying a beautiful complexity. On the palate, it is creamy with a complex, long-lasting finish.
