The Chiran Distillery is located in the southern part of Kagoshima Prefecture. Chiran is also famous for its high-quality tea production. Chiran's tea and sweet potatoes are grown in a warm climate and well-drained soils due to volcanic activity. Shochu distilled from sweet potatoes, to which high-quality green tea is added at the end of fermentation. It offers an excellent aroma of matcha/green tea on the nose, a creamy, slightly sweet palate, and an elegant, aromatic finish.
