About product
The Chiran Distillery is located in the southern part of Kagoshima Prefecture, in a city steeped in historic atmosphere with samurai residences. Their tea and sweet potatoes are grown in a warm climate and well-drained soils, thanks to volcanic activity. This undiluted, aged shochu presents a refined, elegant aroma of grapefruit, apple, steamed sweet potato, and a hint of lemon balm. A full-bodied, intense flavour reminiscent of herbs and apple or pear compote on the palate, followed by a slightly sweet finish. The maturation results in perfect balance.
