About product
Citrus aroma with a subtle grassy flavour, refreshing barley shochu with a fruity sweetness and soft, buttery texture on the palate. Ideal for highballs with soda water and lemon or cocktails with yuzu sake. The Yanagita distillery is the oldest distillery in the city of Tojo and is located in the middle of the Miyakonojo basin, which leads the Kirishima mountains to the west. Their shochu is carefully crafted in a family atmosphere. The master distiller, the fifth-generation owner, has a background in engineering and is good at creating original shochu. The natural groundwater used to make ‘Koma’ is water from the Kirishima and Wanizuka mountains that is filtered over a period of 10 to about 100 years, seeps into the ground and is stored in the concave layers of the Miyakonojo basin.
