The Asahi distillery is located on Kikai Island, a remote island in the Amami archipelago that lies between Kyushu and Okinawa, with fields of sugarcane stretching across its entire length. This is a long-aged Kokuto shochu made with sugar from the company's own farms. Since the climate of the island is also reflected in its aroma, you can detect subtle differences in flavour when you enjoy this Kokuto-Shochu, depending on the year of production. It has a deep, earthy aroma of brown sugar, grapes, nuts and caramel. Long-lasting finish.
