About product

This Junmai Daiginjo from the Ryuou Yamadanishiki "Blue Series" is made from rice grown in the region and processed on-site. Ryuou lies in a basin surrounded by mountains that run east to west. The rice fields extend from the plains, across the foothills, to riverbanks. These diverse soil types (clay, silt, sand, gravel, and mixed soils) influence rice cultivation and result in diverse characteristics that are reflected in the quality of the rice. Aromas of pomelo, blood orange, and citrus zest, light floral notes, a lively texture, fruity and mineral on the palate.

Location type (Yuge): Due to its low altitude, Yuge is often prone to flooding, which affects the soil composition. Despite the sandy and clay soil, sake made from rice from this region has a solid structure and a strong character, characterised by mineral notes typical of this area and reminiscent of the fine gravel of the local rivers.
