Heiwa Shuzou is a family-run brewery located in the picturesque town of Kainan, Wakayama Prefecture—an area blessed with abundant natural resources, from crystal-clear spring water to fertile land ideal for growing high-quality rice. Nestled between mountains and coastline, the region’s mild climate and pristine environment provide perfect conditions for sake brewing. Founded in 1928, Heiwa Shuzou combines tradition with innovation, producing sake that is both expressive and approachable. Their philosophy emphasizes craftsmanship, sustainability, and a deep respect for the local terroir.
These values are reflected in their flagship brand, KID, which has earned acclaim for its elegant, well-balanced flavor profile. Heiwa Shuzou's commitment to excellence has gained international recognition. In 2020, they won the prestigious Champion Sake award at the International Wine Challenge (IWC)—one of the world’s most respected blind-tasting competitions. This honor not only highlighted the quality of their sake but also positioned them as a leading voice in the next generation of Japanese brewers.
This luxurious Daiginjo is made with high-quality Yamada-Nishiki rice from Hyogo Prefecture. The aroma is reminiscent of apples and cherries. It is characterised by a soft sweetness and rounded acidity, paired with an elegant finish. Full-bodied and powerful.
