About product

The distillery is located in the center of Kagoshima Prefecture, surrounded by abundant nature. In addition to a warm climate brought about by the sea and the surrounding mountains, the region is particularly rich in clean groundwater and hot springs. The development of this shochu was inspired by the process of making wine with noble rot. It is made from Beni-Haruka sweet potatoes, which were hung ('tsurushi') and dried to increase the sugar content before further processing—this is how this shochu got its name. The full moon shining over the distillery and the hanging sweet potato are depicted on the label design. A refined, complex aroma of baked apples and caramel. On the palate, a pleasant honey sweetness, spicy and peppery notes, and baked sweet potato.
