About product

Made from edible sweet potatoes (Miyazaki Beni) with the three themes of "delicate," "harmony," and "lingering taste" in mind, this shochu is produced at the Kodama Distillery, located in the southern part of Miyazaki Prefecture. After several years of hiatus, the distillery was taken over by the current representative, Kazuo Kanemaru, in 1818. His son, Junpei Kanemaru, who was trained at sake and shochu breweries, was appointed as the master brewer (Toji). This shochu is the first product ever made by Junpei Kanemaru as Toji, making it a flagship representation of their distillery. The aroma of this shochu is rich and sweet, with a subtle citrus fragrance blending with the deep, robust scent of the sweet potatoes. On the palate, it is smooth and soft, with a rich umami flavor that spreads across the taste buds. You can also sense a beautiful structure that elevates the overall experience. The balanced sweetness and elegance make this an ideal choice even for those trying sweet potato shochu for the first time.
