Alongside floral notes, there are hints of peach, mango and ripe fruit, with a soft sweetness on the palate and spicy notes reminiscent of ginger and cardamom. The Yamakawa distillery is located on the island of Okinawa in Japan's southernmost prefecture. It was founded in 1946 with the aim of reviving the culture of ‘Kūsū’ – a schnapps aged for at least three years. The distillery is committed to using mineral-rich water from its own water source and to ensuring that the distillation process maximises the extraction of the ingredients and minimises filtration. This product is an Awamori that is stored in stainless steel barrels. It is a winner of the Kura Master 2021 and the first of its kind to be labelled as vintage in Okinawa.
